CYRIL OWEN WHITE

born at 23 Jubilee Road Southsea on 30th April 1913

Cyril was apprenticed as an engineer/mechanic to the motor cycle firm of Minnalls, Southsea.

He married Joan Patricia Carraher (see Carraher cousins) on 12th December 1936 at Portsmouth Register Office.

Their children were:
   Ann, born 19th July 1937 at 9 Hardwicke Way Hamble.
   Beryl (the survivor of twins), born at 9 Hardwicke way on 4th May 1939
   James, born 12th May 1944 at 9 Hardwicke Way.

Cyril worked for Folland Aircraft, Hamble, later Brtish Aerospace Ltd, from 1937 until his retirement in 1979.

He was a founder member and secretary for 50 years of Bitley Rifle Club.

Joan White died in Haslar Hospital Gosport on 14th April 1995

Cyril White died in Southampton General Hospital on 6th July 2004
