Jesse, or simply Jess, was born on 29th January 1918 at Cliff End, Figheldean.

He appears in a couple of early group photographs

He was in the 4th Battalion of the Wiltshire Regiment, and served in Burma, earning the Burma Star.

In March 1946 in Devizes he married Jessica Robbins, known as Midge, and they had a son Malcolm born about March 1947.
Tragically Midge died (of TB?) in September 1947, and Malcolm was looked after by Aunt Jean. Sadly Malcolm followed his mother in September 1948.

Jesse continued to live in Figheldean, and was a bus conductor with the Wilts & Dorset bus company. He was a keen cine-photographer.
Jesse died in Figheldean on 14th July 1979 aged 61

Jessica M Robbins was born in Devizes, the last quarter of 1924
